Spice Giveaway

CONTEST CLOSED AS OF 1-27-11, 8 PM CST.

You, my readers, have spiced up my life. I love you and appreciate you, so I want to return the favor and spice up your life. Literally. Well 4 of your lives anyway. I'm giving away a selection of Penzeys Spices to 4 of my readers. It's easy to enter your name in the random drawing. Read on.

But first, why Penzeys Spices? Well, if you've read my recipe blog posts you've seen Penzeys Spices in almost every one. They are simply the best! I am lucky enough to live near a Penzeys store, and it's one of my favorite places to shop. However to many people, Penzeys is known as a great online, mail order store. My sister in California has ordered spices from Penzeys for years.

Just so you know, I have no affiliation with Penzeys whatsoever. They have no idea who I am; well, except the sales people who work in our local store--they see a lot of me! But, Penzeys has not in any way compensated me for this giveaway. I am sponsoring this giveaway all on my own. My endorsement of their spices comes from my heart . . . and tastebuds. I just can't believe how much better their spices are than the common brands found in the grocery store. This giveaway is simply my way of sharing the love with you.

Here's what's included in each giveaway box sent to 4 lucky readers:

1. A four pack of half-size bottles of baking spices (used in too many of my recipes to list!)

  • Ceylon Cinnamon (sweet, spicy and strong)
  • China Cinnamon (complex and fragrant)
  • Ginger (strong flavor with lemony overtones)
  • Nutmeg (sweet and potent)
  • Cards with ideas and recipes for each spice

2. A two pack of full-size bottles of 2 of my Penzeys favorites (used in my 14-Spice Dry Rub, Thick and Hearty Steak Chili, and Fiesta Taco Seasoning Mix):

  • Smoked Spanish Paprika
  • Chili Powder

3. An 8-oz. bag of Dutch Process Cocoa Powder - so dark, rich and delicious. (used in my Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix, Thick and Hearty Steak Chili, and Fiesta Taco Seasoning Mix)

4. And, just for fun, the giant sticker pictured below. "Love People. Cook them tasty food." is a Penzeys slogan that I just love. It's exactly what cooking is about for me, and I'm guessing for many of you, too. This is bumper sticker size. I'm planning on framing one to hang in my kitchen. Such a yummy sentiment.
